

Most of the people, when I told them what my course is, they would say,” What is that?”, that’s why I need to explain that it’s a Political Science major. People are looking at every move you make, but that’s a part of being a public official. It is when I was informed that being a public official is not an easy job. On how did the government function in providing the needs of its constituents and making our country rise up from the morass of poverty and despair. Well, all I can say is that when I took up Public Administration and Governance, I was informed and become aware of most of all the things about our government. Its just a month I had my first job.ĭo I recommend studying Political Science: Yes, I can say my job is related to the education I had since the job motivates or encourages the principle of talking credibly what you really mean to say for you to gain client's trust or they put you the confidence you can be trusted and reliable to talk for them and with themįinding a job after graduation took me not long to have one.

I am currently working in a call center as customer service representative. We were even exposed with different government agencies to observed and be part of and that we as Public Administration and Governance graduates became more aware of the events which involves the government and its practices. But it was during my college life that I was exposed with different activities such as attending Barangay Meetings, Congress Sessions and Senate Meetings. Especially that all of the time you need to make self study because the professors will just give you the topics that you need to study and when you met, you will be having exams or recitations. Some graduates opt to take a Master’s degree followed by a Doctorate degree to gain expertise in the industry. However, graduates may opt to take the Civil Service Examination (CSE) conducted by the Philippine Civil Service Commission (PCSC) to qualify in working in government offices. The AB in Political Science does not have a board examination. The number of hours required may differ in each university. Their work performance will also be evaluated by their immediate managers and will be submitted to their respective OJT coordinator. Usually, universities require them to submit a written report on their tasks, learning experiences, and hours rendered. Students are given the opportunity to apply their knowledge and skills in an actual work setting.
